Expectations for Jaguar Academy
Jag Time is DEAD!!! (we will not even use the words).
Jaguar Academy is now a graded class and will be considered, along with all your other classes, for promotion to the next grade. Therefore, you should treat it just as seriously as any of your other core classes. You will receive handouts about the details of all these components listed below.

  1. Come in to class and IMMEDIATELY get your Jaguar Academy folder from the  counter and return to your seat
  2. Make sure you have all your materials for Jaguar Academy everyday!
  3. There are several components of this class. Look on your hand outs for details on these.
    1. 40 points worth of Reading Quizzes (40% of your grade)- points can be earned by Reading Quiz selections and alternate reading selections. Students may use no more than 2 non-RQ selections per quarter to meet their 40 point goal unless otherwise approved by Jaguar Academy Teacher.
    2. Remember to graph your RQ score on your test data sheet after each test.
    3. 2 completed Products of Learning (20% each, 40% total)-(Fakebook, Website design, book cover, board game, comic strip, collage describe setting or theme, travel brochure)
    4. Activity Log & Guided Reading Organizers (10%)
    5. Goal Setting Sheet (10%)
  4. Near the end of the period, I will say, "It is time for us to write in our daily activity log." You will complete one entry per day you are in JA. (This counts towards your grade)
  5. Return your folders to the crate on the counter after you finish your Activity Log.
  6. Announcements will be made at the end of Jaguar Academy, and we will move to Homeroom to take care of laptops and lockers afterwards.
